A solution
Friends of the Roxborough Greenbelt proposed that the city of Greater Sudbury should come to an agreement with Dalron to acquire as much of the land as possible as a public natural park. We now have Council approval for this project!
This solution recognizes both the rights of the landowner and the value of the land as greenspace and public parkland.
A
key part of the agreement to protect the Roxborough Greenbelt is
community contribution of $50,000, organized by Friends of the
Roxborough Greenbelt.
We have now fulfilled this commitment! A big thank-you to all our donors and supporters!
We are now waiting for the transfer to be completed, and are looking forward to switching gears to stewardship of the area.
